Coffee Grounds

Use   coffee  grounds  to eliminate odours in  refrigerators or other storage cabinets. You just need to put a few scoops of coffee grounds, either already in use or are new, in an  open  container and put them in the area you want. Replace the coffee grounds once every two months to keep the freshness and avoid caffeine to dominate the smell of your closet.

Scotch Tape

Use scotch tape to clean up pieces of fine broken glass that often escape the sight on the surface of the floor. Take the biggest scotch tape, then paste it onto the shards of glass. They will be lifted easily through the tape.


Blender is a household appliance that is quite difficult to clean because of the blade sits at the bottom of the jar of the appliance shape which is not convenient to be dismantled.  But now there is an easier way to clean by just pouring a few drops of dish soap along with hot water into it. A clogged sink is sometimes very difficult to overcome and sometimes you may need a   plumber to fix the problem. But there is an easy way which you may try first before an expert is called.  Mix baking soda with vinegar and boil the mixture. Then pour the boiling  mixture  into the sink hole and wait for a few minutes. Try to let the water flow to the sink hole as per normal and the sink will work normally again.

In rainy season wet shoes are difficult to dry because of the unfavorable weather condition. In order to speed up the drying, insert rolls of newspapers or magazines in the shoes. The moisture trapped in the shoe would be gradually absorbed and hence drying is accelerated.

Stains on The Carpet

Stains on the carpet is very difficult to clean. Now there is an easier way to eliminate them is by spraying a solution of a mixture of 2 cups of water with 1 cup of vinegar. Cover the stain with a damp cloth and iron it for a while. About 1 minute later stains on the carpet will disappear.


Vomit residue can be cleaned with pouring a mixture of baking soda and water on the stained  carpet  or  other surfaces. Leave it overnight. The stains will be easily cleaned afterward.

Non-metallic Sponges and Brushes

Sponge or brush is frequently used every day to clean kitchen utensils such as dishes or pans.  Bacteria collected from the utensils will stay back and  grow if the sponge/brush  is not properly cleaned. There is a way to kill the bacteria by putting the sponge/brush in the microwave and heat it for 2 minutes. 99% of bacteria/germs will be killed with this way of  sanitization. Make sure that the items to be sanitized are not made of any metallic materials.

Silver Kitchen Utensils

Cutlery or other kitchen utensils will discolor or fade if used regularly. To make them bright and shine again, soak the items in a mixture of hot water and baking soda. After some time, they will be as clean and bright as new.Top of Form
